Mission

The mission of Nouvelle Espérance is:

 “The improvement of the living standard by a global support of the AIDS-patients and their relatives in Burundi.”

For the persons living with AIDS, Nouvelle Espérance assures:

  • A global approach and reduction of the impact of HIV-positives;

  • AIDS-prevention;

  • a reinforcement of the capacities of AIDS-patients.

The global approach and the reduction of the impact of HIV-positives consist of:

  • A medical approach for the persons who live with AIDS and the orphans of AIDS.

  • A psychosocial approach for the persons who live with AIDS and the orphans of AIDS.

  • Legal assistance.

 The AIDS-prevention consists of:

  • Reduction of high risk behaviour by communication about the changes;

  • Identification of AIDS;

  • Make an early diagnose and treat sexually transmitted diseases;

  • Reduction of the risk to infect people through blood;

  • Reduction of the risk of infecting from mother to child.

The different activities to earn some funds are:

  • The clothing workshop of the aids patients of Nouvelle Espérance;

  • The workshop where they make cards;

  • Breed cattle.
